Project Double-Duty TJ Installing the new 9.5ti winch from Warn |
|
While our XD9000i was a great winch, we just had to get the newest bad boy winch available from Warn. So we sold the 9000 and a phone call later, we had the all new 9.5ti on it's way to grace the front of Project DD. |

Here's the all new 9.5ti Thermometric winch from Warn. It provides 9500lbs of high speed pulling power. It comes in an all new alloy housing that is sealed better than any previous Warn winch and has a sleek new look with no wires or cables in sight. High gloss powder coat finish over chromate coating provides excellent corrosion and chip resistance. A premier Warn feature is the new motor mounted thermal sensor which relays instantaneous temperature information to the hand held remote to provide operator feedback while the winch is in operation. A new Gen II Bosch motor and many other features combine to make the 9.5ti one fast powerful, rugged and reliable winch. |

| We decided to modify the Warn winch mounting plate by cutting off the corners. This provides a sleeker look and also makes the grill mounted LED lights easier to see. After grinding the edges smooth, we bedlined the plate too. | Mounting the provided roller fairlead to the winch mounting plate is about as easy as it gets. 2 bolts and that's it. The rest of the winch install is almost as easy. 4 bolts mount the winch to the mounting plate, 6 more bolts mount the plate to the stock bumper bolt locations and then you run the positive and negative cables direct to the battery. You're done! | Here's a pic of the new winch mounted on Project DD. The 9.5ti is a darker color than previous models, and we think it looks right at home against our black grill. Unloaded line speed is refreshingly faster than our previous XD9000i. We can't wait to see how it all looks when it's finished! |

the 9.5ti winch on our project.
This is one sweet looking, brute of a winch! Now if we just had our axles and tires installed... |
