Our Project get's an Atlas 2 Transfer case |
![]() |
Folks
who know about hardcore 4-wheelin' know the benefits of the Atlas2
transfer case. Bigtime gear reduction and bullettproof strength, make it
the only choice for our TJ.
We opted for the 4.3:1 ratio and the 32 spline front output shaft upgrade. |

Our Atlas2 T-case has arrived! With 40" MTR's, 5.38 gears and the 4.3:1 Atlas, we'll have a crawl ratio around 94:1! Excellent for crawlin' over the big stuff. Previously, our TJ had 4.56 gears and the stock transfer case, along with 35" tires. It performed well on many of the trails we normally run, but wasn't up to the task of crawling in big rocks. You could smell the 'ol clutch getting hot as we had to feather it a lot to get through some rough sections. That won't be a problem with the Atlas2... |
| Here's our Atlas 2
transfer case sitting in place.
We modified the RE skidplate slightly to accommodate the new mount, and allow access to the Atlas drain plug. The Atlas should be clocked in the 14 degree position (second hole from flat) for this application. With a 1.25" body lift, we have plenty of room between the skidplate and the body. We'll hook up the vent line and the shifters, and the install will be complete. |

Stay tuned for more pics as we complete our Atlas 2 install... |
