We now carry the full line of Eagle Alloy aluminum wheels. Being the oldest privately held and family owned corporation in the industry, their products are backed by extensive R&D using state-of-the-art technologies. That being said, we here at DPG wish to take a moment to explain some key points when it comes to wheels and your off-road rig, shown below. |

A NOTE FROM DPG OFF-ROAD When running
larger tires on your jeep, a different size wheel is generally required
for proper fitment and stability. Moving the wheel outward in the wheel
well prevents your bigger tires from rubbing on suspension components and
adds stability to a lifted vehicle. Also,
this is where that classic tough jeep look comes from! Check out these
aluminum wheels from American Eagle. Many of the steel wheels in the
aftermarket don’t run true, and are almost impossible to balance. The AE
wheels are lightweight, true, and stylish. Best of all, they won’t break
your pocketbook! A note
about 16” wheels & tires: We often
recommend replacing the 16” wheels that are standard on many jeeps with
a 15” rim. Many of the tire choices in the 16” range are limited to a
load rating of “D” or “E”. A load range “E” tire, for example
belongs on a 1 ton truck! These tires are much stiffer than desired for a
jeep, and we would recommend a load range “C” tire. The
heavier tires don’t ride as smooth on a jeep, and don’t perform as
well off road either, since the sidewalls don’t flex as well. Since the factory 16” wheels & tires can bring some good money, a lot of our customers sell them in their local newspaper or e-bay and go with 15” tires & wheels. Availability of tires in the 15” range is MUCH greater and the wheels and tires are generally cheaper. |
